Abstract: This report provides details 3 aspects of the internship i.e. about the company under which the summer internship assignment was undertaken, the details of the assignment and key learnings from the assignment. The summer internship assignment was provided by Kotak Securities Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., a part of multi-billion dollar Kotak Group. Kotak Securities is a full service broker engaged in providing a range of services to its customers which include stock broking, portfolio management, depository services, equity research etc. The report provides details regarding the competitive framework in the stock broking industry as well as various financial and strategic details related to Kotak Securities Ltd. The report further provides details regarding the summer internship assignment which was regarding the analysis of the Asset Management Sector in India. For the assignment the asset management sector in India was analysed based on competitive and regulatory framework. Further the listed players in the space were analysed on the basis of both quantitative and qualitative parameters and then were compared with their global counterparts on the basis of various valuation benchmarks. Finally the third part provides details regarding the key learnings from the summer internship assignment.
