Abstract: The internship with Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance gave me the opportunity to work on Equity Research Project. Equity Research involves analysis of economy, industry and the respective company. Economic analysis includes analysis of key indicators of the economy. Industry analysis is done to track trends in the industry and the growth prospects of the industry. Company analysis constitutes of swot analysis, analysis of management team, and fundamental analysis. The main objective of the research was to carefully analyze the economic conditions of the country, and also of the FMCG sector; so we can better compare and pick those companies which will earn profits in future. For my equity research project, I decided to work on the FMCG sector and the companies under research was Marico Ltd. and Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd. In-depth analysis of the companies was done to find the better company for investment amongst the two. Based on the analysis of the companies’, it is found that Procter & Gamble Hygience and Health Care Ltd. is performing better than Marico Ltd., and hence it seems to be better for investment. In the learnings part, of the report I have presented my insights that I gained from working on this project.
