A Polyherbal Oral Nutricosmetic Formulation for Hair Care

Abstract

Nutricosmetic is the aligned concept nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals intended for the the permanent and preventive or therapeutic use of the natural ingredients for health and wellness care product for hair, skin, nail etc. In this study was done on formulation of protein powder is an polyherbal oral formulation for the solution of hair problems. It contains extract of herbs having different nutrient like vitamins, minerals, protein, and amino acid and also some other actives like Anti-oxidant. This formulation is for the benefit of healthy, voluminous, and shiny hair and scalp. This formulation gives a sustain release effect and serves the purpose on permanent basis. This can be taken with water, milk , and mixed with food and is safe for use over a longer period of time as it contains natural and semi-synthetic ingredients. Protein powder are of the two types 1) Dairy-based & 2) plant-based. This is a plant based protein powder as the main active protein used in pea protein, keratin and biotin. This product can be used by all age group and even with people having different medical conditions like diabetes. The study aim to formulate a high protein and sugar free enriched with different nutrients and Anti-oxidant . For the method of preparation of the same , all the ingredients are mixed using Planetary motion mixture and then mixed with rotary mixture and then dried under oven of temperature of 60 C for 90 mins. After drying granules are formed then passed through sieve . After the formulation sensory evaluation, stability, ash value, moisture, fat, protein and other Nutritional information. The moisture content reported was 3.7-4.07%, Ash value(4.56-7.6%), protein content(9%), Fat content(3.63-9.07%), sugar content(0.2% of sucralose), carbohydrate contents(37.05-41.46%) and energy 363.54 – 416.40 kcal/100g respectively. This high protein and energy content and have low sugar and carbohydrate content and have shelf life if over a year. Hence this polyherbal powder formulation has great nutrient value and could serve as a good nutritional supplement for the hair care and also helps boost Immunity
