Agro based industry is one such sector where companies are mostly reliable on availability of input raw materials to survive in the competitive market. The better the supply and amount of input raw material for the production to be carried out in the agro based industry. So in order to maintain the regular and smooth flow of the raw material agro based industry also has to focus on the backward integration for the raw materials procurement. The study aims to establish the link that highlights the different parameters on which the cost of input raw material depends. The cost of the agricultural produces depends on the different cost items which are involved in the agriculture. The agricultural produce is region specific. So, in order to get the grass root level of data the primary data has to be analysed. Taking in consideration regional dependence of the nature of the raw material, the study focuses on the region specific data. Some of the identified parameters like water for irrigation, electricity, procumbent of the seeds, fertilizers and pesticides were taken in consideration. For the same, a sample study is done in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, India region. The cost calculation methods proposed by Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare India were taken as base for the parameters. A sample data from 150 farmers in the period of the lockdown due to pandemic is collected and the analysis is done on the primary data. Based on this analysis, major pros and cons for the agricultural produce and the cost associated are taken in identified and relevant recommendations are put up. The findings of the study are a potential basis for future agro based industry pertaining to this domain.en_US
