Abstract: | This report presents an review study of the self-healing properties of cement-based and alkali activated composites with controlled crack width. Two types of binder, i.e., cement and alkali-activated slag-based polyethylene fibre-reinforced composites with identical water to-binder ratios, were reviewed. Compressive strength was checked by using Taguchi method and different graphs of compressive strength using urea, calcium acetate, calcium nitrate and using other different materials were established. Different reviews of research papers based on self-healing of alkali activated concrete was made. Here, in this research papers self-healing was done using different types of bacteria and additives. Different conclusion have been made based on research papers and those are shown in this report. Taguchi technique is a tool for optimizing the recital characteristic of a process. The aim of the research is to spot and design the method parameters that optimize the chosen quality characteristics and they are least to noise factors. In this report uptill now only reviews and basics of Taguchi method has been shown and the practical work like casting and testing is done. However, the said objective could not be achieved due to extraordinary situation of pandemic. |
