Architecture Compliance Suite for Platform Security Architecture - M (IoT)

Abstract

With the increasing dependency on connected devices, security must be check out from the beginning and should be designed into the hardware, firmware and software of a de- vice. Arm’s security architectures are the basis for a safer internet of things (IoT) and designs in all industries. “The Platform Security Architecture (PSA) is a holistic set of threat models, security analyses, hardware and firmware architecture specifications, and an open source firmware reference implementation. PSA provides a recipe, based on industry best practice, that allows security to be consistently designed in, at both a hardware and firmware level.” The architecture test suite is a collection of the behaviors which are specified in the PSA Functional APIs specifications. The suite is use to verify whether these behaviors are implemented correctly in system. Self-checking and portable C-based tests with guided stimuli are included in this package. The PSA Functional APIs and PSA Firmware Framework are mainly in this Architecture Test Suite. PSA identifies security service APIs for application developers, with Crypto, Attestation, and Secure Storage being the most common services. For reducing man power and saving time automation is require which is done for this test suite. Also for analyzing log and every one can understand the logs and to make it more human readable log analyze tool is generated for architecture compliance test suite logs. As with the increasing devices security requirements is also getting increasing and updating, and for that new PSA specifications are keep coming and updating. It is not necessary that all new specifications user want to implement and also for all test suites. For that specification version based build system is implemented. In which only those tests will be extracted which is selected by user through the specification version.
