D-19 situation has created once in a lifetime situation where people are exposed to a huge health crisis in the wake of social distancing norms introduced by the governing bodies. Wearing of masks and maintaining a distance of at least two yards is mandatory. The paper aims at detecting if people in a workplace or a public place are following suit- able social distancing norms or not through the anomaly detection technique. Objective of an anomaly detection system is to detect any deviation from the normal (ideal-case scenarios) profiles. Need is felt to use technology based innovation for ensuring social distancing norms from the videos. The paper surveys various anomaly detection systems built using the surveillance videos and proposes a novel scheme to raise an alert if social distancing norms are not followed.en_US
