dc.description.abstract | Major challenge in modern transmission lines is congestion. Congestion challenges the reliable operation of Power system in deregulated system as it directly affects the system security and also due to this the cost of electricity is increase. Now a day's congestion management became more and more difficult due to increase in complexity of the system. This complexity in the system is due to the restructuring of conventional power system. Therefore, Congestion management become the most important factor for reliable and se- cure function of restructured power system. In order to congestion relief there are many methods available. This study presents the congestion management using Distributed Generation (DG). Sensitivity analysis has been carried out in order to determine suitable buses where Distributed Generation (DG) can be placed. In this work the optimal placement and sizing of Distributed Generations (DG) has been carried out to relive network congestion. The objective of optimization problem is to optimize the size of generation. Sine-cosine Algorithm (SCA) has been used as a tool to solve the optimization problem. The methodology is implemented on IEEE- 14 bus system and IEEE-39 bus system. Implementation and analysis have been carried out using MATLAB. | en_US |
