Abstract: | This project aims at building the dynamic model of hydraulic excavators to perform the rough road simulation. For that multibody simulation technique is used. The simulation is performed using Automated Dynamic Analysis od Mechanical Systems (ADAMS). The load cases are extracted at various gauge locations like – hydraulic tank, fuel tank, SCR Frame, Cabin and Counterweight. The results are then to be checked with the test results and the trend needs to be matched. The complete excavator is built as per the data given of mass and CG locations. The joints and contacts are given to make the model move like real excavator model. The road geometry is prepared in Hypermesh. The entire vehicle is considered as rigid body for the simulation, to study the model behaviour at the first step and then certain components can be made flexible to extract the accurate results. The bush is ignored. The speed of vehicle is 3.75 km/h and is made run on the track in forward and reverse direction. The deviation in trend needs to be studied and the model is to be checked and redesigned by verifying the contact parameters. Once the model is built, it can serve as a base model for new product development and design optimization. |
