The chemical dye and dye industry product range includes basic dyes, azo acid and direct dyes, disperse dyes, fast color bases, reactive dyes, sulfur dyes, vat dyes, organic pigments, naphthol’s, and optical brighteners. Due to the Covid- 19 pandemic the exports of Dyes and Dye Intermediaries from India have declined in fiscal 2020-21. Gujarat is one of the prime locations in India from where 70% to 75% of total dyes and dye intermediaries are exported from the country. In terms of numbers and value the exports of dyes from India declined by 12% at US$ 2.3 billion as per the data compiled by Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics & Dyes Export Promotion Council (Chemexcil). For the same period last year i.e. Fiscal 2019-20 the dyes exports stood at US$ 2.6 billion. If we look at the exports of dyes intermediates, they dropped by ~24% from US$191 million in 2019-20 to US$ 145 million in 2020-21. The outlook for the industry globally is positive and is expected to grow at 4% CAGR for the period between the year 2021 and 2026. Asia Pacific region is scheduled to be dominating the market over this period.en_US
