Abstract

The report describes the research project that I am working on with Mr. Ajay Kumar Soni, my mentor at NJ Group, one of the biggest leaders in the Indian financial services business. The Group provides its interns with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn and grow across numerous areas and initiatives. Daily and weekly follow-ups and feedback sessions are held online with the mentor, Mr. Ajay Kumar Soni, who keeps me up to date on the progress of my reports and daily client interactions, as well as guides me to perform better. During uncertain times, mutual funds are regarded as one of the best investment options. They provide instant diversification and are less risky than investing directly in stocks. Mutual funds are chosen as an investment by investors based on a number of important factors. This study aims to investigate various factors that influence mutual fund selection before and during the pandemic, with the goal of understanding how factors change with the occurrence of a black swan event. My mentor, Mr. Ajay Soni, gives his unique thoughts on how I may make my study more meaningful and valuable for NJ Group, as well as learn more about the factors that impact mutual fund selection in India. Working at NJ Group has allowed me to gain a better understanding of mutual funds. These findings will help mutual fund businesses identify areas for development and create new and innovative products by taking into consideration the most critical influencing factors for investors in this turbulent market.
