Servicing Grocery Stores Run by Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) in Bangalore City

Abstract

This report is a summation of my summer internship project at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCB) titled “Servicing Grocery Stores run by Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) in Bangalore City”. HCCB is a bottling arm of ‘The Coca-Cola Company’, which is the world’s largest beverage company that manufactures, markets and distributes non-alcoholic beverages, concentrates and syrups having over 500 brands and 3900 products globally. HCCB is one among the leading FMCG brands in India and it stands today where it does because of the strategies and campaigns it popularized throughout its journey. I interned at HCCB from May 3rd to June 30th of 2021 as part of the Summer Internship Programme of the MBA-FT curriculum. As a Summer Intern at HCCB, I worked directly with various stakeholders such as Sales Team Leaders (STLs), Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) of the company as well as a few retailers which drives the sales for the company. The internship has helped me learn about the FMCG sector and how the bottom line works in an FMCG company. This report has covered a brief overview of the project, a brief description about the company, a holistic overview of the FMCG sector, details of the tasks completed during the internship, key learnings through the internship and the recommendations made to the company.
