dc.description.abstract | This project studies the print media sector in our country and related trends and practises. It also tries to capture the growing need of various technology in the print media business value chain along with the requirement of the integration of a highly responsive supply chain to combat demand fluctuations through the year and the dynamic competitive environment existing within the print media sector. This project highlights the various competencies of Outlook Publishing (India) Pvt. Ltd., the leading print magazine brand in the country, with multiple titles under its umbrella; and also attempts to successfully solve a few tasks, related to Operations and Supply Chain Management of the company. The four tasks, assigned as part of the Summer Internship in Operations Management with the publishing house, are related to the areas of Operations Strategy, Logistics and Supply Chain Strategy, Aggregate Planning Processes and derivation of Economic Order Quantity. The data that has been provided are fictional in nature. Actual data could not be provided due to the constraint that it was a Work from Home project and organizational privacy had to be maintained. However, the fictitious data has been analysed with relevant tools and techniques; and the solution provided is empirical in nature, therefore may be valid to a certain level, for analysis of actual data, whenever available, to derive beneficial suggestions for the company and its operational processes. | en_US |
