Abstract: | This report attempts to highlight my experience and learnings obtained from my Summer Internship Programme at “GetMyUni” as an intern in the domain of “Digital Marketing – Content Marketing and SEO”. GetMyUni is an edu-tech start-up, and it aims at providing all the valuable information regarding the educational institutes in India to the interested students, so that they can take a well-informed decision for their career ahead. Providing accurate information in the most aesthetically neat way has been a recipe for success since long, but the advent of latest digital marketing trends comprising of SEO and content marketing has increased the importance of contemporary and well-structured information as well. During my internship, my role was to create and update information pages of educational institutes (colleges and universities) on the back end of the company’s official website, while keeping in mind on-page SEO and maintaining information hierarchy. This included collecting and structuring reliable information from authentic sources, interlinking and quick linking on webpages, SEO using keywords, etc. Sufficient amount of training was imparted to me so that it is easier for me to work effectively in the domain of digital marketing, and to take important and timely decisions to make sure that the content offered to the users remains easily accessible and attractive despite the massive amount of content on the Internet. After the completion of the internship, I feel confident that I can use the latest tools and websites like Flikover, Ubersuggest, Similarweb etc. to track the on-page SEO and off page SEO performance of a website. Information obtained from this tracking can then be used to better optimize the webpages for improved relevant website statistics like search volume, pages per visit, average visit duration, bounce rate, etc., which is important for increasing the traffic of website through SERPs and other routes like social media. |
