Abstract

Xiaomi Technology Private Limited is an internet/ e-commerce company providing a range of products from consumer electronics like smartphones, smartwatches, laptops, TVs to shoes and home appliances. As per the year 2021 quarter 1 data, Xiaomi India is the number 1 company in the country providing the best technology at the most reasonable prices. Following the matrix structure of the organization, Xiaomi promotes power-type organization culture according to Harrison’s model of organizational culture. As the part of MBA program summer internship, I got a chance to be a part of the Human Resource Department of the organization and be involved in the recruitment & selection, and employer branding teams. Being a part of the recruitment & selection team, I developed a deep understanding of the whole recruitment cycle especially the sourcing and screening part. Along with it, I had an opportunity to learn various other things including stakeholder management which included interaction with various hiring managers and team members. With the employer branding team, I understood various aspects of employer branding along with its objectives and crucially. The internship experience at Xiaomi India has been enriching in every aspect which has helped me in developing an understanding of recruitment & selection along with employer branding functionalities.
