Abstract: | Cancer is defined as a disease of genetic alteration at the somatic level, which leads to anuncontrolled proliferation and differentiation. The estimated worldwide cancer mortality is10 million; there are 19.3 million new cases reported in 2020. Worldwide an estimated colon cancer cases is 1.5 million and death cases approx. 0.6 million, while in India 19,326 death occurs from 31, 646 reported cases in 2020. Considering the gravity of the cancer incidence and mortality there is urgency of developing effective therapeutics. While some of the targeted anti-cancer drugs and vaccines in development are considerably successful, and promising results of immunotherapy in the clinic there is still need for effective cancer therapy. There are various ways of inducing tumor in animal model through Cell line, Carcinogen and Patient Derive Xenograft model. Altogether, to recapitulates human tumor development in animal model chemical carcinogen induced model serve the purpose to study cancer biology, tumor immune response and immune escape in various treatment efficacy to regress the tumor burden in clinical observations. Here, we proposed to induce colon cancer in 6–8-week-old Male Swiss mice using chemical carcinogen 1,2- dimethyl hydrazine (DMH) and to document the presence of tumor using various techniques like H&E staining and In vivo imaging. Further, developed model will be utilized to study the treatment efficacy to regress the tumor. |
