Abstract: Mechanical upender is a fixture used for upending objects with large mass from the horizontal delivery orientations to the vertical delivery orientations and vice versa with respect to the assembly orientations and desired production activity. Mega objects have large mass and with the help of rigorous design approach to optimize the fulfilment of the task of tilting the object with mechanical lifting of the fixture while positioning the orientation 90 degrees with respect to initial observation while reducing the conventional manual handling procedure with an inception of cost-effective approach to applying the preferred mechanics complying to the fixture asserting with manufacturing feasibility in consideration. The attitude displacement process of the large piece is very complex and time consuming which has been the statuary factor for the development and inception of this fixture with improvement in the productivity and sustaining the surface quality of the work piece. The design approach utilised the problem statement to develop an explicit as required by the design specifications and manufacturing feasibility. The project result ensures reliability achieved by engineering design while making the mechanical upender automatic. It provides equipment structure optimization, reduction in manual operation and thus improvising the process of tilting mega objects. This project objective provides the basic theoretical support for the innovative design of the upender with independent intellectual property rights.
