dc.description.abstract | The boiler control which is the most important part of any power plant, and its automation is the precise effort. In order to automate a power plant and minimize human intervention, there is a need to develop a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system that monitors the plant and helps reduce the errors caused by humans while the SCADA is used to monitor the system. PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is used for the internal storage of instruction for the implementing function such as logic, sequencing, timing, counting and arithmetic to control through digital or analog input / output modules various types of machines processes. In this thesis, Prototype of a small boiler system is implemented using most widely used industrial automation control equipments in order to control all parameters digitally instead of manually. Interfacing it with or controlling the parameters using Siemens S7400 PLC accepts the outputs from transmitters incorporated within the boiler, evaluate them using PLC based PID controller FB 41 functional block for the level and temperature controller and generate appropriate signal. and Wincc SCADA for monitor, Data Acquisition and control the process which provides the conceptual basis for implementation of boiler systems. The model will be used to carry out a systematic study to understand the process behaviour, and to investigate the effect of changes in various relevant process variables and parameters on the process performance. | en_US |
