Abstract: Steam generator is very commonly used equipment in the industries and power plants. The basic application of the boiler is to generate the steam while maintaining the parameters of the drum level, drum pressure and drum temperature in balance. Because of the non-linear characteristic of the boiler whenever there is any sudden steam demand changes, it change behaviour of drum level and drum pressure. So this operation requires a good control techniques for controlling these parameters in its operating range. This project describes the system identification of the Lab-boiler setup with four inputs and two output () model. As a bench mark conventional industrial control scheme need to be tested on this Lab-Boiler with one element two element and three element control. And it shows the implementation of two element control scheme on Non-robust and scheduled type controller. Further in this project with 2 model, multivariable control scheme is implemented using inverted static decoupler. To explore another multivariable scheme, Model predictive control is implemented in model for simulation study.
