Abstract: For the high current DC power supply, controlling section used for thyristors to obtain the required current profile was made up of the analog circuitry which consisted of many small controlling circuits is now to be controlled by a Digital Signal Controller card. To minimize the bulk of the system circuitries needs to be replaced by proposed digital signal controller TMS320F28377D of Texas Instrument. Control cards will be prepared in replacement of all analog cards of system by this DSC for various controls. The rectifier controls, interlocks and other high speed controls will be fully controlled by DSC and other signals are processed by programmable logic controllers. Master control card will subsequently coordinate to each power supply through digital inputs and outputs to avoid the communication delay in synchronization. As a result every power supply will respond accordingly to preloaded current Vs time profile for system. The hardware components will be reduced and system will become smart enough for the measurement as the data will be directly saved to a server for every 20 seconds. The human efforts will be reduced due to this and accuracy obtained will be much higher
