Abstract: The project focuses on upgrade of existing high voltage power supply system control and custom with hardware design using PLC and DSP. Here existing mainly 3 power supply and 1 wave shaping unit. A three power supply is TF(toroidal field), OT(ohmic), VF(vertical field), where wave shaping unit is in between OT and VF and it is connected in series connection to OT power supply. Wave shaping controller (new controller similar to TF/VF controller & control retrofit for wave shaping unit). Analog circuit is already exist we try to convert it in digital form with help of ADC and as a controller we use DSP. Here we use 12 pulse thyristor protection circuit. a high current thyristor circuit and a timer circuit have been developed for controlling the power supply automatically for charging vertical field coils of main high voltage power supply. Key protection interlocks implemented in the development ensure machine and occupational safety. Fiber-optic trans-receiver isolates the power supply with other subsystems, while analog channel is optically isolated.
