Abstract: Development of E ciency Calculation for Boiler and Reheat Furnace and Analy- sis to nd losses in Combustion Process. In Reheat Furnace ue gas losses are much greater, so for Optimization Intelligent level-2 system is developed to generate opti- mized slab temperature set-points. Combustion Process, Mechanism of Heat Transfer, E ciency of combustion pro- cess is studied. The predicted slab temperatures are compared with a range of desired slab temperatures and the slab requiring the greatest time to be heated to its desired temperature is de ned. Modeling of Reheat Furnace considering various parameters such as furnace ge- ometry, slab geometry, slab material and implementation in LabVIEW in terms of Simulator. To improve the performance of the furnace, the mathematical and neural network based approach is developed, that is hybrid modeling. Heat Transfer Coefficient of the system is continuously adapting so that error between the actual furnace output slab temperature and model output slab temperature is minimized.
