Abstract: In a power plant, Boiler control is the most complex and critical control problem. Ef- ciency of entire power plant mainly depends, upon the e ectiveness of the boiler per- formance via control loops of boiler. If the control-loops of the boiler are optimized and controlled e ectively then the overall plant e ectiveness and performance can be drasti- cally maximized . We have worked on furnace draught control-loop optimization based on DCS(Toshiba make) based control logic and design optimized state feedback controller for boiler drum level control-loop based on separation principle with state estimation techniques.Designing the optimized control with observer and controller based on LQR needs determination of matrix Q , R , Kc and Ko accurately which causes minimum estimation error with optimized control on plant open-loop linearized model.
