dc.description.abstract | Eliminating the physical cabled connection between a data acquisition sys tem and the data processing unit brings flexibility and robustness to every system, especially when this system is located in an industrial environment. This thesis investigates the possi-bility to build a Compact-sized, low-cost wireless data acquisition system with improved power saving capabilities. The aimed computational platform is the PIC controller while the chosen wireless communication standard is Microchip Wireless Protocol (prototype of Zigbee). Data acquisition, storage, display and communication are imple- mented in microcontroller architecture with integrated A/D converter and PMP interface, Touch-screen HMI ,an external non-volatile memory chip and external SRAM. The system is also equipped with Ethernet, USB and WiFi modules for easy data transfer. | en_US |
