Abstract: The project is tells about the communication between the Mitsubishi Electric PLC and LabVIEW. The driver is developed for the Mitsubishi Electric PLC using LabVIEW platform. For this we have to make a Driver development of LabVIEW for Mitsubishi Electric PLC. In this we are going for the two approaches. Firstly, the Open Communication Platform (OPC) which will provide the common platform for the communication between the LabVIEW and the PLC. OPC will convert the communication protocol of LabVIEW and Mitsubishi Electric PLC into its own protocol. And they starting talking with each other. Secondly, we are going to develop the block of Mitsubishi Electric PLC into the LabVIEW for which we can use the concept of .dll (dynamic link layer) file that is develop into the visual studio using visual C++ language, after form this file and we also form the block of Mitsubishi in LabVIEW and then call this .dll file into MC block in the LabVIEW by using the calling function that is available in the LabVIEW. Thirdly, we are going to interface the Mitsubishi Electric PLC with LabVIEW using the other communication standard like VISA (Virtual instrument software architecture), Modbus, and Ethernet. After that we are going to compare which one is the best communication for the PLC. Finally after implementing all these we are going to implement the MPC (modern predictive control) advance algorithm into the LabVIEW.
