The objective of the project is to develop a Heat Recovery Steam Generator Library in MATLABĀ® /Simulink and automate the procedure of whole HRSG plant model development. After model development, optimizing the plant model is done. Nowadays, simulation platform available are either very complex, time consuming or are very simple. Also establishing connections between different parts is a tedious job. As the plant changes, developing model for every site is a tedious job for process control engineer. To overcome the drawbacks, a HRSG Library is developed in MATLAB/Simulink. Models of each component were developed using conservation law of mass, momentum and energy. They are linear/nonlinear simple medium fidelity model of HRSG components. A user interface is attached to each component. After HRSG library development, an algorithm is developed to automate the procedure of plant model development. The algorithm takes steady state data and automatically develops the whole plant model. Also, connections among the parts of plant are established automatically. Once the model is generated, an optimization algorithm is developed based on Hooke and Jeeves Pattern search optimization. The optimizer will optimize the plant model and will generate the optimized output. Model optimization is also automatic.en_US
