Real-time data of boiler thermal e ciency can really re ect the boiler operation condition, heat generation and heat loss. Performance of the boiler, like e ciency and evaporation ratio reduces with time, due to poor combustion, heat transfer fouling and poor operation and maintenance. Calculating boiler e ciency can be also useful in analysis of boiler .It can also be used in predictive maintenance of the boiler. How to reduce problems of the boiler e ciency real-time computations and be successful in calculating the boiler thermal e ciency on line is the main concern of operation departments of power systems. Using Heat Input-Output method plant people can evaluate quickly the e ciency of boilers using few parameters. Heat loss method can be very useful detail analysis of the losses occurring in boiler. Real time e ciency of boiler can prove to very e ective in producing better energy. Boiler is very complex MIMO system, where fault occurrence in its daily running is very common. Detecting of fault or prediction of fault could prove an advantage in its boiler running. Fuzzy logic replicates the human thinking in problem solving. Fuzzy logic base diagnosis of fault could detect problem in boiler with less computation. Combining boiler efficiency with fault diagnosis system can detect a fault that occurred in boiler, and as well as can calculate the boiler efficiency.en_US
