Abstract: In this era of high growing technology automation becomes so much mandatory in each and every field specially in packaging industries. For machines like Filler, Washer, Warmer, Pasteurizer, the process parameters like temperature, pressure, flow and level are required to be controlled for better quality. Programmable Logic Controller is widely used for packaging, food processing and manufacturing industries. In this proposed work, on-off control, conventional PID control, self tuning of PID control strategies has developed for the close-loop level control system and successfully developed self tuning PID control related tuning and programming for Tunnel Pasteurizer m/e of KHS for temperature control using Siemens S7-300 PLC. Different control schemes are used to control process parameters like feed forward control, ratio control, cascade control etc. Also the Human Machine Interface has been developed for the same for monitoring and control the process. Another very important point is safety. Safety is of utmost importance and without safety any design cannot be implemented as it may damage the overall system. So safety has to be kept in mind for all the devices mounted in the process control loop.
