Abstract: In control system application knowledge of exact process model is required to obtain better quality of control. Various complex control schemes like smith’s predictor, feedforward-feedback control, fuzzy knowledge based controller, adaptive control requires exact mathematical model of process. The objective of this paper is to design a system which acquires input-output data from the system and identifies the system’s mathematical model. Analog data is acquired at the input of ADC which is in-built in ATmega16 micro-controller. MAX232 and RS232 (Recommended standard 232) are used to transfer data serially to the computer. Various techniques are used for identification using identification toolbox in MATLAB. In our experiment we used electrical RC networks as 1st order system, 2nd order interacting system and 2nd order non-interacting system.
