The developments in genomics have resulted in paradigm shift in study of biology. Focus of study is shifted from characterization to the understanding of functional activity. Systems Biology takes a signal and systems oriented approach to describe the dynamic processes within and between cells. The ultimate goal in Systems Biology is to obtain a complete quantitative description of all cellular functions and integrate this into a complete in silico representation of a cell. This will enable elucidation of complex diseases and advance drug discovery.en
