Permanent magnet brushless direct current (PMBLDC) motors are widely used for various drive applications such as electrical vehicle applications, servo applications, fans, pumps, etc. These motors have high efficiency and performance to improve the overall performance of system. Due to absence of brushes, brushless DC (BLDC) motor has a considerable reliability advantage over DC motor. In order to attain better performance and high efficiency, a PMBLDC motor designed for electrical vehicle applications using high energy permanent magnets. Initially various design variables such as airgap flux density, winding factor, stacking factor, slot space factor, slot fraction, flux density in stator and rotor back iron, electric and magnetic loading, current density are assumed. Using these assumptions and basic design equations Radial flux PMBLDC motor of 1000 W, 510 rpm, 48 V is designed. Final Element Analysis (FEA) is performed to evaluate the performance of a motor. The torque, speed, efficiency weight, magnetic flux density, power, temperature rise, losses is examined by simulation software and found in line with specification. Objectives: 1. Develop high power density and high efficiency PMBLDC motor. 2. To validated design with Finite element analysis (FEA). 3. Parametric analysis for performance improvement.en_US
