Abstract: | Earth has been known for its insulating properties as a construction material. Different approaches are explored over different region to achieve best of its performance areas. The research aims to explore the use of earth as an alternative construction technique in hot and dry regions of north Gujarat by analyzing its thermal performance. The study, aims to develop acomparative analysis of three commonly used techniques: rammed earth, compressed stabilized earth blocks (CSEB), and adobe. All three alternative methods will be studied. To adequately evaluate each technique's quality, strength, and durability comprehensively mud samples from select case studies would undergo testing before being formed into blocks that qualities like strength and durability are tested on too. This evaluation would include conducting in-depth on site measurements of temperatures within building. U-value which measures heat transfer through building materials would also be determined using a measuring device. Design Builder simulation creating models of our case studies and conducting an analysis of their thermal performance. By evaluating each approach's strengths and limitations, this research aims to assist professionals like architects, engineers, and builders in boosting their execution for eco-friendly building design within similar climatic setups.
