dc.description.abstract | The interplay of light and shadows has continuously shaped the essence of an architectural space. Throughout history, daylighting has been a primary source of illuminance within the built forms. This study aims to understand the role of natural light in creating a spatial experience integrated with its aesthetics and functionality and how different lighting strategies within the layouts and the non- structural elements bring in natural light in various forms and cast unique shadow in the built form since natural light helps shape the human perception, visual experience and the characteristics of space it has become an integral part of contemporary design practice. However, the increasing use of artificial lighting has decreased the significant use of natural light in architectural forms. Natural light is a mere element that gives the space a dynamic nature rather than a static one which creates a sense of movement. Natural light connects indoor and outdoor spaces: By strategically using natural light, architects can blur the lines between the interior and exterior, creating a more integrated and engaging spatial experience. | en_US |
