In the automotive industry, electrification of vehicles has become a prominent trend. Electric vehicles EV are becoming more and more popular because of their advantages over other vehicles and advancements in technology. The Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) characteristics of electric vehicles are crucial factors that require contemplation, for the design and analysis of gearbox. The present work focuses on the analysis and optimization of electric vehicles gearbox used in automobile industries for its improved performance with respect to NVH. The project is aimed to simulate the vibrations caused by motor and transmission error excitations in gears. Based on the simulation, gears will be optimized to minimize the noise produced by the gear whine. The gearbox is designed and analysed using commercially available simulation package. The motor excitation force data is referred from the literature and imported to simulation package to study the behaviour of the gear train due to that forces. The proposed work analyses the effect of different forces acting on geometry of the gear tooth in dynamic mode and vibration pattern Additionally, research is done to determine appropriate micro-geometry changes of gear tooth to minimize the powertrain and vibration responseen_US
