Each city has its very character that it develops through the centuries of development that it goes through. The character that a city develops is very unique in each case. Much of the uniqueness comes from the inhabitants of the city and the way the city was treated by its users. When it comes to the cities of India each city has its very own character. While cities in Europe had governing bodies that controlled the development of the cities India had these governing bodies come very late in the development process. Also India has had years of rulers who had their very own ideologies and aspirations for their cities. Each ruler had their own impact on the cities of India and we see those impacts clearly. Street can be called a fundamental element of the city. Each city has its own unique spatial experience when it comes to the streets of the city. The way in which a street is formed is different for different cities. The process of development may vary for different cities hence causing the streets to have unique character.
