Abstract: This paper describes CAMEL (Customized Applications for Mobile Enhanced Logic) an IN (Intelligent Network) for the GSM, GPRS and UMTS network. Evolution of CAMEL phases, phase 1 and phase 2 enables SMS (short message service) charging and roaming of PPS (Prepaid service) subscribers in network and countries, with network protocols other then intelligent network application protocol (INAP). It describes CAMEL phase 1 network architecture and call flow process in CAMEL phase 2 along with its features. Further it presents the features of phase 3 and phase 4
