Abstract: | The aim of this project is to Design and Develop AC-DC converter with 100 W (12 volts) output power meant for 90 W SSPA load. Active power factor correction pre-regulator is used in order to achieve good power factor, less harmonics & adjustable mains selection. After moving from linear to switch mode designs, further reductions in size could best be realized by raising the switching frequency. However conventional square wave PWM designs suffers from considerable switching losses in the power devices , and while resonant techniques made switching more efficient , they had their own share of problems . The Fixed frequency, Resonant switched Pulse width modulation with Phase shifted control approach followed in present design combines square wave conduction with resonant switching, hence uniting the benefits of both the topologies. The energy is modulated in a bridge power stage with phase control, hence achieving high efficiency at high frequencies. Synchronous rectification is used to increase efficiency. |
