Abstract: This paper focuses on the implementation of Isolated Word Recognition. Speech is very essential mode for information exchange between human beings. Human beings are naturally inclined to do the communication with the help of the verbal or the non-verbal languages and decode the message. Ears and eyes play a very important role in the identification of the communication details. After the wide usage of the sophisticated electronic appliances, the human beings have lost the opportunity to use their free flowing natural ways of communication and are forced to use the cumbersome process of typing. This wide usage of the computers has also led to the security threats due the spread of the anonymity with the users of these systems. Some products like the face recognition system; fingerprints recognition etc. has helped the consumers to have some process of identification. Automatic Speech Recognition is a technology used to identify the words the user speaks in microphone or telephone. The applications discussed are quite useful in everyday life. They are Retail Customer Care product using ASR, Automobile Control using ASR and Home Automation using ASR. It shows application of both speaker dependent and speaker independent ASR.
