Abstract: This project aims at design and implementation of Super Point Component in part modeling of NX-CAD software. In the NX various features will use a super point component for positioning. Super point is like super-section where we collect points in a section instead of curves. These points can be either existing points or the user can use snap toolbar to define smart points on the fly. Just like super-section, it is required that the user is allowed to create a sketch containing points on the fly and/or construction geometry for defining the points. This also includes several sketcher enhancements to support Super-Point fully. Sketcher enhancements like different default dialog when sketcher is opened through super point, ability to convert the sketch points into reference points, ability to Edit the sketch dimensions outside the STE. While implementing this, Super point must support journamation. The word "Journamation" is a combination of the words "Journaling" and "Automation". This is the term used for the initiative to create an automation API and a record-and-replay capability in NX. This API is to be used by both NX's interactive UI to access application functionality and by our customers in order to create their own automation programs. This capability would improve productivity and usability of part modeling a product using widely known, renowned and global leader of CAD software Unigraphics NX. It also ensures that the pre-existing functionality does not regress.
