Abstract: Man has always resorted to innovative means to meet his changing needs. There has been a constant evolution in the construction techniques ever since the time man learnt to hold the spade in his hand. The corporate world, manufacturing sector, residential and institutional sectors, all demand quick construction. The Corporate giants always consider "time" as the prime deciding factor in terms of pro tability. For them, earlier construction of commercial buildings means earlier return on invest- ments. For various purpose we need structure for short time duration. Today we see for exhibition purpose, during construction time store material in warehouse a tem- porary steel structure is erected. So we have to adopt certain changes in analysis and design of temporary structure and minimize the cost in comparison with permanent structure.Temporary structure has many advantages like faster erection, light weight etc. General information regarding Temporary structure is described. Advantage and ap- plication of Temporary structure is described. Analysis and design of Portal and Curve pro le permanent and temporary structure is explained. Comparison of Portal and Curve pro le Permanent and Temporary structure is described.Permanent and Temporary structure is modeled, analysis and design by STAAD Pro.2006 and Excel sheets. To compare the results con guration of ware house remain same. Applica- tion of loading remains same in both cases. DL, LL, Wind X (Cpe+Cpi), Wind -X (Cpe+Cpi), Wind Z (Cpe+Cpi), Wind -Z (Cpe+Cpi) cases considered in modeling. Steel quantity is observed in all cases. Con guration of Permanent and Temporary structure remains same . Erection work at site is observed. Snaps of erection work is attached. Construction stages of tempo- rary structure is described with photographs.Various site visits of Temporary struc- tures is described with con guration and photographs.
