| Abstract: | This thesis presents the comparative study of clauses of IS 13920: 1993 “Ductile Detailing of Reinforced Concrete Structures Subjected to Seismic Forces, ACI 318/318R-303, Chapter 21 “ Special Provision for Seismic Design: and NZS 3101” Part 1 and Part 2: 1995 “The Design of Concrete Structures for Seismic Forces”. Along with commentary suggested for each clauses with background, One G+5 building has been analyzed and designed with Ductile Detailing. For the same building, design of beam-Column joints has been done with the help of all three codes, along with detailing. Cost of the building considering reinforcement of beam and column is compared for Non Ductile and Ductile building considering the seismic forces. |
