Abstract: | Designing and implementing an embedded system is not an easy task. Connecting various blocks of discrete property in a system using a processor having speed with hundreads of MHzs, and making them all work together, continues to be di cult and time-consuming. Instead of designing a system themselves, engineers need a solution that can be quickly con gured to closely match their design's required functionality, for the lowest possible cost. A solution that combines high-end processor based system-on-module (SOM) approach makes this possible. Using a systems-on-module approach provides a way to reduce a form factor that delivers greater versatility than a single-board solution. Finally, integrating peripherals and the application logic in the processor on the system-on-module cuts NRE costs and time to market. Second, this solution can help avoid design obsolescence by providing a exible, a platform which can be con gured with desired peripherals for each application. Finally, the system-on-module can be used as both development hardware and an o -the-shelf component in low volumes |
