Material handling equipment are widely use in industry to handle the heavy process equipment like boiler, end shield. End shield is the component of nuclear reactor, which provide support to lattice tube and shielding nuclear reactor. This dissertation work contributes for the development of a material handling equip- ment, which is use for movement of end shield in the con ned atmosphere, where the dust particle and temperature are continuously maintained. So, for this application, air lm transporter is designed because of its feature like easily movable heavy loads and positional accuracy in movement. The present work includes design and analysis of 100 MT air lm transporter. The components of air lm transporter like base frame, shaft, gear, pinion, spring, pulley and belt. The selection of the air casters, driving wheel, driving motor, gear box, bearings and ball transfer unit have been carried out from manufacturer's catalogue. To ensure the design of critical components nite element analysis has been carried out with Ideas NX-12 software. Also 3D components, assembly and 2D manufacturing drawing of air lm transporter have been prepared by using Solid Edge ST-2 software for the manufacturing purpose.en_US
