Abstract: Computer-aided design is one of the many tools used by engineers and designers and is used in many ways depending on the profession of the user and the type of software in question. Current computer-aided design software packages range from 2D vector-based drafting systems to 3D solid and surface modellers. NX is one such parametric solid / surface feature based package based on Parasolid and is widely used throughout the engineering industry, especially in the automotive and aerospace sectors. The increasing use of Selection Intent in NX across di erent features requires consistent performance for di erent entities involved. However there are issues requiring enhancement from Selection Intent point of view. In this present work, such issues are addressed and enhancement for them is suggested and implemented. The enhancements do not change the persistent functioning of any feature and hence only account for solving the issues obtained during selection of entities for a feature. Results obtained after enhancements are tested across di erent features and test cases are run to validate whether the changes does not produce any further issue. Moreover these changes are checked across versions to give consistent results. The present work involves enhancement of Selection Intent for curves, body and issues regarding user interface.
