dc.description.abstractAd Hoc network is often termed as an infrastructure-less, self- organized or spon- taneous network. The execution and survival of an ad-hoc network is solely dependent upon the cooperative and trust nature of its nodes. However, this naive dependency on intermediate nodes makes the ad-hoc network vulnerable to internal and external attacks and cause severe damage. A number of secure protocols have been developed to secure ad-hoc networks using cryptographic schemes, but all rely on the number of prerequisites like centralized units or some trusted third parties to issue digital certi cates or monitor network traffics during both the network establishment and operation phases. Thus it causes network overhead.This project aims at how to ndout the trusted shortest path.The Node's trust as a routing parameter is used to deliver the message to the intended node. Each node in this ad hoc network has its opinions about some other nodes trustworthiness and then it decides weather to exchange the information or not. Node trust calculation is done based on the di er- ent parameters. Based on situation, the di erent probabilistic weights are assigned to this parameters. Trust updating and routing decision are based on observed and experienced routing and forwarding of the packets by the nodes. Petri Net(PN) and Color Petri Net(CPN) simulators are used to implement and check the correctness of the simple communication strategy. GloMoSim is also used to implement the dynamic adaptive trust based routing protocol.en_US
