Abstract: The biological treatments are evergreen method to treat any kind of wastewater. The well known traditional method like activated sludge and trickling filters are common choice for wastewater treatment. Here the project was to treat the industrial wastewater using the pilot bio tower for CETP, Vapi receiving combined industrial wastewaters. This project demonstrates the treatability of combined industrial wastewaters and increases the confidence level for use the Germain-Schultz model for prediction of performance of bio tower. The project was conducted for various operational flows between December 2004-March 2005 using primary clarifier wastewater of CETP. The collected samples were analyzed for BOD3 and COD. In this project all experimental operational flows were conducted with high recycle ratio. The purpose of this high recycle ratio was to prevent septic to bio film. The Germain-Schultz model was modified according to this CETP receiving wastewaters through model coefficient (K) calculation and experiments conducted were used to test the model accuracy by comparing the observed results with estimated values. It is hoped that the research described in this report will both aid trickling filter treat ability as well confidence of Germain-Schultz model accuracy for this CETP receiving G.I.D.C, Vapi., combined industries wastewaters.
