This paper describes the CORDIC (CO-ordinate Rotation on Digital Computer) algorithm and its application for sine-cosine function computation. CORDIC is a simple yet effective hardware efficient algorithm used to compute variety of trigonometric, logarithmic, hyperbolic and transcendental functions, devoid of any hardware multiplier. This paper attempts to describe a variety of aspects of CORDIC algorithm, including introduction to the algorithm, basic theory, modes of operation and its applications. Specifically, the application of CORDIC algorithm for sine-cosine computation has been described in this paper.en_US
