Abstract: | Resonant Converter/Inverter topologies are very well known in high frequency applications for DC-DC converters, DC power supplies, solar photovoltaic systems, induction heating…etc. In applications of Resonant Converters Series Loaded Topology is very well known because of its simplicity in design procedure, soft switching (zero current/zero voltage switching), high performance and small size/weight of the conversion system. As Load Resonant Converters are operated in different conduction modes; continuous conduction mode or discontinuous conduction mode according to its switching frequency. Here in this paper the different conduction modes of Series Loaded Resonant Converter (SLR) are analyzed by considering harmonics level in resonant tank waveforms, efficiency and switching losses. The computer simulation results for inductor current are presented for all conduction modes. After selecting suitable conduction mode the experimental results are also compared and analyzed with the simulation results. |
