Abstract: Electrical equipment utilized in pulse power application usually derives its energy by rapidly discharging capacitor. The capacitors used in this type of equipment are energy- storage capacitors and must be charged by capacitor charging power supply. At high frequency operation PWM converter suffers from High switching stress and high switching losses so, Capacitor charging power supply using resonant converter topology is proposed the control scheme proposed with constant on time variable off time which is very simple and efficient compared to other control scheme like frequency domain control and phase domain control. Topology also add the advantages of zero current switching and low EMI. The control circuit was implemented in PIC18F452 micro controller with switching frequency =18kHz. Report also include the features of PIC18F452 Micro controller and optical isolation between control circuit and power.
