Abstract: A universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) is a type of "asynchronous receiver/transmitter”.A peripheral unit of computer hardware that sends/receives data and serially translates data between parallel and serial forms. UARTs are commonly referred with the communication standards as EIA RS-232. UART front design is impemented with the HDL Designer. Back end design is carried out using Mentor Graphics tool(Design Architect and IC Station) and TSMC 0.35μ Technology.
